The payroll module is capable of handling a wide range of scenarios including mid-period hires and terminations, prorations by calendar days or workdays, retroactive adjustments, arrears processing, garnishments, loans, and advances. It can manage negative net pay situations by automatically deferring deductions to future cycles, and it provides mechanisms to handle net-to-gross calculations for allowances where the final take-home amount is fixed.
